Structure of the Oda army for the Chūgoku campaign

This is a diagram showing the framework of Hashiba Hideyoshi’s army that he led against the Mōri in Western Honshū, taken from the rekishi gunzō book on the Oda army. Miyabe Keijun was a monk from Mount Hiei who had served the Asai clan and fought against the Oda at Anegawa. Besshō Shigemune was the uncle of Besshō Nagaharu who had very recently fought against Hideyoshi. Shigemune had split off from the rest of the clan and sought to create his own lordship, staying loyal to Nobunaga after the rest of the Besshō had rebelled. He was later rewarded by Hideyoshi with a daimyō domain in Tajima province.
